CIADA Donates to SCCS!
Last Friday (January 10, 2026) at the Loveland Auto Auction, the Colorado Independent Auto Dealers Association (CIADA) presented a generous $5,000 donation to support the ongoing efforts of the Sweetheart City Car Show.
Christmas Car Donation!
As we celebrate the joy and wonder of Christmas, we’re thrilled to share the latest story of God’s provision and the incredible impact of our Sweetheart City Car Show ministry. Thanks to the generous proceeds from our 2025 Sweetheart City Car Show, we were able to purchase and fully prepare a reliable vehicle for a single mom in desperate need: a 2007 Chevy Suburban with over 200,000 miles—but now running like new! This Suburban was sourced from a skilled mechanic at Metric Motors, who specializes in restoring vehicles that need major repairs. He fixed everything required and graciously charged us only for parts, donating his labor to the cause. The ripped leather front seats were repaired at no charge by our partners at Stitchmasters Upholstery. We also received new tires at cost from Big O Tires, ensuring the vehicle is safe, comfortable, and road-ready. Stitchmasters even hosted the donation presentation at their shop—despite the electricity being off that day! Our recipient had been relying on her late mother’s old Ford Expedition. During the car show’s inspection and a follow-up at our trusted partner, Gerry’s Auto Care, it became clear the Expedition was beyond repair—the costs far outweighed its value. Tragically, her mother recently passed away before transferring the title to our client, putting our client in a serious transportation bind. Now, she’ll register this Suburban in her own name—free and clear, with no debt! When we called to share the news, her reaction was pure joy. Though she’s not much of a “car person,” she confessed that a Suburban has always been the one vehicle she admired and dreamed of owning one day. What a perfect match—truly a Christmas miracle! May this story remind us all of Jesus, the light of hope that defines this holy season. We know that there are many single moms and widows in our community. Our program to help single moms and widows with transportation issues is much smaller than the actual need in our community. To prevent outspending our resources, we try and focus our efforts to try to identify and help those who most need this type of assistance. Prior to the event each year, we reach out to our non-profit partners and ask them to refer three or four of their clients most in need of our assistance. Housing Catalyst is one of those partners. After the event, we received this message from them: “I just wanted to share that I spoke to one of our clients yesterday and we talked a lot about the car show. She had nothing but positive things to say about the experience-she is so grateful to have new tires and says the car is running better than it ever has. She said all of the vendors she has worked with have been kind and compassionate and that you have also been very responsive and easy to work with. She feels a great sense of relief in knowing her vehicle is much safer to drive and she feels more optimistic about finding employment since she now feels she has reliable transportation-a huge win! On top of all that, she said the car show itself was really fun and the giftbag she received with some goodies like a free coffee have been a great treat! It’s been very difficult for us to find resources in the community that can help our residents with their transportation needs and I am so grateful that this program has worked out so well for one of ours! 2025 Event is in the books!
The results are (almost) all in, and the 2025 Sweetheart City Car Show was record-setting in many ways. This charity event is dedicated to supporting single moms and widows with their car care needs. This year, we served 38 clients referred by our local non-profit partners. During the event, we conduct vehicle inspections and perform light repairs. Thanks to our generous car care partners, we also provide oil change coupons from Loveland Ford, Loveland Buick GMC, Fort Collins Nissan, Take 5 Oil Change, and Metric Motors. Additionally, we offer car wash coupons from Champion Auto Wash. Beyond the services we provide at our charity event, we recognize that many vehicles require repairs beyond our on-site capabilities. For these needs, we connect our clients with trusted local car care providers who assist in addressing urgent reliability and safety issues. Thanks to your incredible support, we raised nearly $32,000 this year! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, volunteered, registered, or purchased items at our event—you’re making a profound impact in our community! The heart of our event remains the classic car show, which saw a record-breaking 218 stunning vehicles this year, by our closest count. We’re deeply grateful to all participants who shared their time, vehicles, and captivating stories, making this year’s show unforgettable. Our goal is to create an event that’s more than just a car show—a fun, free, family-friendly experience for all. The inflatable water slides were a massive hit with kids, blessed by perfect weather. We welcomed back our incredibly talented face painter and introduced a magician who delighted attendees with comedy and illusions. Our DJ kept the energy high with classic car show tunes, setting the perfect vibe all day long. We distributed 140 goodie bags to children, with many more enjoying the festivities. Now, we turn our focus to supporting our 38 clients with vehicle repairs to ensure their cars are safe and reliable. We’re also kicking off planning for next year’s event. Excitingly, one participant was so enthusiastic that they registered for next year’s event the very next day!
