We organize and execute the Sweetheart City Car Show in order to raise money to help single moms and widows with car care issues.
Reliable transportation is vital for most people in northern Colorado. Providing a hand to help with this need can be life-changing and provide hope. Helping make cars safer and more reliable makes our community safer too.
But primarily, God calls us to love one another as he first loved us. He loved us so much that he sent his only Son to die for us—when we didn’t deserve it. Extending grace and generosity to our neighbors is one small way to show our gratitude for what God did for us.
Prior to the car show, we engage with local non-profit agencies dedicated to helping people year-round. Each agency recommends several of their clients to us. We make appointments to inspect their cars during the car show, refer them to local repair shops for additional repairs, and help them through the repair process. If the car is beyond repair, we work with partners to try and locate vehicles that can be donated as replacements.
We provide on-site car care at the event to fix what we can fix and advise clients on next steps. For vehicles that need professional repairs, we refer clients to local repair shops.
These repair shops have agreed in advance to provide our clients with discounted prices for parts and labor. We pay for the first few hundred dollars of the (reduced) repair costs with revenues from the car show.
